Prices new and old compared.

The new fortrabbit platform prices each component on its own, where the old Universal Stack sold three plans. The combinations below match the old Light, Standard and Plus plans, and most apps need less than that.

Product changes affecting pricing

The following structural changes in the new platform directly affect pricing:

Component based pricing model

The new platform adopts a component-based pricing structure, similar to the former Pro Stack. This allows for individual scaling of resources, enabling you to pay only for what you need.

PlatformModel
Old platform Uni Stack3 plans
Old platform Pro StackComponents
New platformComponents

Each app books what it uses, from a CMS on a LAMP stack to a flat-file site without a database.

No more company plans

The old platform had company plans: lower rates for solo developers, higher ones for larger teams. The model confused many customers. The new platform has no company plans, and all collaboration features are included at no extra cost.

New backup options

The backup component adds one-click restores and backups on demand. Compared by the number of backups alone, it can cost more than before. Retention policies are planned.

Autoscaling

MySQL, storage and traffic autoscale: when one of them runs full, only that component grows. On the Uni Stack, one exceeded limit meant the next larger plan. A cost cap keeps the budget predictable.

New XS options

XS plans fit small projects such as staging environments, weekend projects and small client sites. The smallest combination starts at €2.50 / $2.50.

Traffic is a component

On the old platform, 50 GB of traffic were included, and each additional 5 GB cost €1, often unexpectedly. On the new platform, traffic is a component with plans that can be capped or autoscale.

Universal Stack mapping

The following new platform plan combinations roughly match former Uni App plans. Uni Apps included 50 GB of traffic: Light and Plus use the 64 GiB traffic plan, Standard the 32 GiB plan to stay near its old price. Standard and Plus included cron jobs, so their combinations add the jobs component.

Light plan equivalent

Formerly €5 per month.

PHP XS128 MiB memory€1
MySQL SM256 MiB storage€2
Storage SM1 GiB storage€1

Smaller MySQL and storage plans lower the entry price further.

Standard plan equivalent

Formerly €15 per month.
