Self migration to the new fortrabbit platform
🚦
Move your app to the new platform.
Apps can move from the old fortrabbit platform to the new one now, by hand and at their own pace, ahead of the official migration. fortrabbit helps along the way and gives a discount during the move.
Self-service migration
A typical move with Git deployment:
- Create an account and an app on the new platform.
- Install the fortrabbit GitHub App on GitHub.
- Connect the app to a new or existing GitHub repository.
- Push the local code base to that repository, which deploys it.
- Import the database, see MySQL export and import.
- Copy uploads and other content, for example with rsync.
- Test the app on its default domain.
- Point the domain to the new DNS records, see external domain setup.
The same steps apply to apps coming from another host, see migrate to fortrabbit.
Please at any point. We help hands-on and can give a discount during the move.
Official migration
Apps that stay on the old platform move with the official migration, which starts after the new platform reaches general availability. Each batch is announced by e-mail in advance.
